5 Tips to consider when designing a kitchen

5 Tips to consider when designing a kitchen:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Layout: The layout of your kitchen is critical, and it can have a significant impact on the functionality and overall aesthetic of the space. Consider the size and shape of your kitchen and choose a layout that makes the most of the available space. Make sure to leave plenty of room for counter space, appliances, and storage.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Lighting: Lighting is an essential aspect of any kitchen design. A well-lit kitchen is not only more inviting but also functional. Ambient lighting provides general illumination, while task lighting is designed to illuminate specific work areas, such as the countertop, sink, or stove.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Storage: Storage is critical in any kitchen. Consider how much storage you will need, and what types of items you need to store. This will help you determine the best storage solutions for your kitchen. Cabinets, drawers, and shelves are common storage solutions, but there are many other options to consider, such as a pantry or a kitchen island with built-in storage.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Appliances: The appliances you choose will have a significant impact on the overall functionality and style of your kitchen. Consider the size and style of the appliances you need, as well as their features and energy efficiency.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Materials: The materials you choose for your kitchen will impact both the look and the durability of the space. Consider the durability, ease of maintenance, and style of materials like countertops, cabinets, flooring, and backsplash. Popular options include granite, quartz, hardwood, tile, and stainless steel, but there are many other materials to consider as well. Choose materials that fit your personal style and budget, and that will stand up to the wear and tear of daily use.

For this project, we thought about the functionality of an open space in an already small living and dining room. Opening up the kitchen added ease of flow and brightness to the overall space.
